Bracknell has been named as one of the most pet-friendly places for a staycation, according to new research.
The research team at Special Moment compiled a list of 86 UK cities and towns and looked at the percentage of Booking and Airbnb listings that allow you to bring a pet, as a proportion of the city’s total listings.
Based on this information, Telford was found to be the most pet-friendly town, with nearly 56.7 per cent of its listings allowing you to bring a pet along with you on your travels.
Bracknell takes the fourth spot on the list, with 46.66% of its lodgings allowing pets. The town has vast green spaces like Windsor Great Park and Swinley Forest, where pets and their owners can enjoy outdoor activities such as walks, runs, and picnics.
Next on the list, Norwich secures the second position, with over half of its accommodation options being pet-friendly (51.35%).
In third place is Milton Keynes, with 47.05% of listings that allow pets and provide amenities catering to their needs.
Another English city rounding out the top five is Sunderland. There are 46% of pet-friendly accommodations available, offering many options for travellers. Also, the city has many seaside and riverside attractions that make it even more interesting.
Harrogate, Lowestoft, Folkestone, Shrewsbury and Hemel Hempstead round out the top 10 as the most and pet-friendly staycations across the UK.
“If you're planning a staycation with your furry friend, it's important to choose a destination that welcomes pets," said Mark Kowalczyk, a spokesperson for SpecialMoment.
