A popular pub that recently had to close due to an emergency is now open once again.

Residents will be happy to know that the Bull Inn Arborfield Cross is now welcoming guests back onto its premises.

A spokesperson for the Bull Inn Arborfield Cross said the following statement:

"You may be aware that we've had to close due to a fire on site and are so glad to welcome old faces and new again.

"We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon and are very appreciative of all the support from our community."

Firefighters from Wokingham, Whitley Wood, Wokingham Road, Caversham Road, Bracknell, Crowthorne and Windsor were called to the pub at around 4:07am on April 9 following reports of a blaze at the commercial premises.

Despite the less than desirable weather conditions, the crews worked to extinguish the fire which was affecting the outbuilding and the patio area of the pub.

The Environmental Protection Unit from Whitley Wood and the Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead were also sent to the scene.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said: "Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire affecting an outbuilding, including a large patio area. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using four hose reels and three main jets, before damping down the area.”

According to the team at The Bull Inn, no damage was done to the pub building and they said that they would later announce to the public when they would reopen.

According to the team at The Bull Inn, no damage was done to the pub building and they announced the pub would be reopening their doors again this last week, April 17.

Owner of the pub Tom Jackson said that despite the awful occurrence of the fire, the team are still feeling very positive after welcoming back punters.

"There's nothing we can really do about it now it's happened. We're looking forward to it getting back to normal for summer," he said.

"We're getting a new bar, new outside kitchen, barn, everything has to be rebuilt. All the clearing up is almost done."

The beloved pub, which sits in the heart of the Berkshire village, has recently gone through a major refurbishment after being reopened in Summer 2023 with new owners at its helm.

Since news of the fire broke The Bull Inn has sent a statement out to their customers saying how devastated they are.

"We are absolutely devastated and shocked, but grateful that no one was harmed and all of our staff are safe."

Thames Valley Police have since released a statement confirming that no person's were harmed during the incident and it is not being treated as suspicious.
