A mysterious film crew has been spotted in Virginia Water, according to curious members of the public.

Eagle-eyed residents and commuters reported the presence of trailers and film equipment around 6 pm on Thursday, May 9 at the Virginia Water car park.

This car park runs alongside the lake on London Road available for people visiting the area.

One resident who visited the site said: “It’s a Jason Statham movie.. filming car chase scene at the lake! Or so the guy in orange vest told me.”

Another social media user stated that they witnessed a ‘van hanging off a bridge and sheriff cars'.

Jason Statham is an English actor and martial artist known for portraying characters in various action-thriller films.

A Bracknell resident, who was on her way to Egham at the time, told the News that the car park was filled with trailers and people in high-vis jackets.

The original post on a community Facebook page garnered an interesting debate on why the film crews were present by the lake.

This area beside the lake at Virginia Water sits on the Crown Estate.

Other TV shows and blockbusters that have been filmed in the area include The Witcher and Lord of the Rings - The Ring of Power.
