The UK’s richest gypsy, Alfie Best, has said that he is determined to use his ‘hard work, determination and persistence’ to become the UK’s first billionaire traveller.

Mr Best has recently been ranked as the 173rd richest person across the British Isles. With a £947 million fortune, he has jumped 58 places – a £202 million increase – in the Sunday Times Rich List.

The 54-year-old has recently moved to Monaco, joining a host of other millionaires such as Sir Lewis Hamilton and Phillip Greene.

Mr Best made the move to become a tax exile away from UK laws when he ‘grew tired’ of paying the taxman millions.

The entrepreneur told the MailOnline that he was the victim of a ‘witch hunt’ despite paying millions of pounds.

In a recent interview, he said that in the next 12 months he is determined to close that £53 million gap which will give him billionaire status after years of hard work.

Best explained: 'I will just have to work harder and harder. Being here in Monaco has given me a clearer vision to create a global business.

“Until we have a Britain that backs business I think you are going to see more and more entrepreneurs and skilled people leaving the UK'.”

Alfie Best made his fortune from mobile home parks and other property investments. His company, Wyldecrest Parks, manages over 100 residential mobile home parks and holiday parks across the UK.

His Berkshire mobile home park is located in Cranbourne, close to his £7 million Surrey mansion, which he has still retained in the UK.

As he settles in Monaco, he has stated that plans for the future include opening mobile home parks in France and the US. This follows his huge success within the UK housing market.

The Sunday Times Rich List shows that his wealth has risen by £202 million from £745 million in 2023 to £947 million in 2024.
