Investigations into an ‘unexplained death’ are underway after police were called to the scene in Bracknell earlier today (4/6).
Thames Valley Police rushed to the scene of the sudden death in Jameston at around 7:41am after being alerted by South Central Ambulance Service.
A 27-year-old man from Woking has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 26-year-old woman from Bagshot, Surrey.
Paramedics worked at the scene to save the victims life but sadly she was pronounced dead.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Peter Clarke, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation, and although we have made an arrest, I would urge the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the woman’s death, which is being treated as unexplained at this time."
A cordon is in place at Jameston to allow police to carry out enquiries at the scene, including forensic examinations.
Officers will be going house to house in the area making enquiries during their investigations and obtaining CCTV footage for evidence.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Peter Clarke added: “If anyone has any information or footage from the area of Jameston and hasn’t already spoken to the police, please contact us as soon as possible.
“You can do so by calling 101, or visit our website, quoting the unique reference number for this investigation, which is 354 of 4 June.
“If anybody has any concerns, you can address these with any officers at the scene.”
The womans next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
