The owners of a long-standing and much-loved Wokingham pub have announced the heartbreaking decision to close their doors for good.
The pub in The Plaza on Denmark Street will stop trading on July 14, after nearly 20 years of service within the community.
The Gig House, formerly J.D Wetherspoons has been a major part of Wokingham’s nightlife and growing economy during the town's regeneration.

Entrepreneur, Robert Butcher took it over from J.D Wetherspoons in 2018 when the company decided to pull out of the town.
After a challenging six years, where businesses were forced to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising cost of living, Butcher has made the difficult decision to close.
The pub announced its closure to punters on their social media saying that they were announcing it ‘with a heavy heart’.
They said: “After nearly 20 years of service in the community, it's time to bid farewell to a place that holds memories for many of our local residents and beyond.
“Named after its history in Wokingham, The Gig House has been in the heart of local nightlife since day one. If you grew up in the area, you’ve likely made countless memories here, under our ownership and before.

“Over the years, The Gig House has been a place many of you would have enjoyed a night out, a reunion with old school friends or live music from some amazing local artists.
"As a business, we have certainly had our ups and downs but we truly want to thank the Wokingham Community for your continued support and custom during this time."
The pub has announced to customers that it will be holding celebrations throughout the next month to celebrate The Gig House’s history and give it the send-off it deserves.
The final closing party will take place on Saturday, July 13 to send the business off in style.
Owners said: “As we close our doors, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. The Gig House has been a beloved part of Wokingham’s fabric, and we are proud to have been part of this vibrant community.
“Thank you for being with us on this incredible journey. We look forward to seeing you at our final celebration.”
