Hundreds of restaurants across the UK waited with bated breath this week as the judges named the 100 best eateries in the National Restaurant Awards.
From countryside pubs to sophisticated Michilin-star restaurants, each offers diners a culinary memory that they will treasure.
One Berkshire restaurant was chosen by judges as the 38th best restaurant across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
‘Woven’ by Adam Smith is a contemporary restaurant situated within the stunning Coworth Park estate and overlooking stunning countryside views.
The acclaimed restaurant within the stunning countryside estate opened in September 2022 after he became executive chef of the hotel in 2016.
The mantra of the restaurant, “Story-telling on a plate” made certain reviewers, including Telegraph writer William Sitwell, “skeptical” of the concept saying that the word has long been abused in the corporate world.
Long-term Coworth Park chef, Adam Smith has reimagined the former dining room at the countryside hotel creating a space that can both stand on its own and also double as the hotel’s breakfast space.
Judges said: “Long-term Coworth Park chef Adam Smith has reimagined what was formerly Restaurant Coworth Park into a dining room that now bears his name and the added weight of responsibility that comes with it.
“Fortunately, Smith has proven that he’s more than up for the challenge, with the former The Ritz chef breathing new life into the dining space and creating a real restaurant of intent.
“With Woven, Smith has read the mood of the past year or so where not all diners want to sit down for a multi-course four hour dinner and has instead created an offer that weaves (see what we’ve done there?) elements of tasting and a la carte menus.”
With its stunning installations that give the appearance of a loom and long windows to one end of the dining room, ‘Woven’ by Adam Smith has been described as ‘hotel dining at its unstuffy best.
Whilst dining, visitors have the benefit of breath-taking views across the Coworth’s beautiful and impressive estate.
Adam Smith said: “ The team and I are over the moon to be included in the top 100, it’s testament to all their hard work and dedication, to be placed at 38 In our first year in the list is fantastic! “
