Twyford’s new library finally opened last Thursday June 13. It is based in the former Old Polehampton Boys School on Polehampton Close.

Wokingham Borough Council says it has been ‘designed with flexibility in mind’ with moveable furniture and a colour scheme that ‘create a welcome and calming space for all.’ And it promises a community garden area in the future.

The council said: “This fantastic new community space is set to prove a local favourite, offering space for people to relax and read, study, browse resources and access services including free internet.

“The new library is also equipped with a specially designed children’s library which includes fun nook seating and storage.

“Over the coming months the library service hopes to work with local organisations to start turning the space outside the library into a lovely garden area where people will be able to relax when the weather is nice.”

Opening hours are 2pm-5pm on Mondays, 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Tuesdays, 2pm-5pm on Thursdays, 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm on Fridays and 9:30am-12:30pm on Saturdays.
