Those casting their eyes on the crowds at Royal Ascot today will see a fresh new sea of incredibly intricately designed hats, dresses, and suits.

One particularly interesting one is a race-goer who styled a pink pillbox-like piece with feathers swooping out from both sides.

Others opted for a different take, with one glamorous women cladding herself in mustard yellow from head to toe.

Another decided on a hat displaying dozens of peacock feathers to match her iridescent green dress.

This comes as Royal Ascot was named as having the highest VIP ticket prices and most expensive dress code to adhere to, with 15 prestigious Royals attending in the last 15 years.

With over 300,000 people expected to attend the event this week, Royal Ascot ranks first with a score of 74 out of 100 in a recent study by by betting tips, predictions and news site, The Winners Enclosure as the UK's most exclusive major sporting event.

The dress code at Royal Ascot’s more lucrative enclosures, which includes a hat, will set racegoers back an estimated £269, £90 more than Wimbledon which ranks second.

As the name of the event implies, it has had the most Royal attendees out of all the sporting events and received a perfect score for this.

All of the 15 members of the Royal Family included in the study have been at Ascot over the past few years, and King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to be present at this year’s festival.

Happy racing everyone!
