Dear Editor,
I just could not ignore all the stories in last week's issue of Bracknell News (published June 12). What is happening to Bracknell?
I think your stories this week are painting a disturbing picture of what is happening here. I note that some shops etc. in Lexicon can no longer afford the rents etc, and yet we are bringing in hundreds of newcomers to fast food outlets and food by Deliveroo.
Surely we should be investing in keeping the idea of small, family homes, not these £500,000+ homes being built on our green spaces. Young and old people like the idea of good affordable homes.
I have heard all the arguments about the developers not being able to afford to let some cheaper homes be built on a new development - as in the application in Martins Heron – in Bog Lane.
