A Wokingham restaurant has denied claims that they are closing after being advertised for sale on Rightmove.
Chalk, located on Broad Street, in the heart of Wokingham has been spotted on the property website advertised by Knightsbridge Business Sales Limited.
In an interview with owner, David Brummer, the business havs reiterated their devotion to the community and continued presence in the town.
David said: “We valued the business with an estate agent when we were doing an exercise to indicate the value of the business when two of the owners were looking at pursuing other ventures.
“There were previously four owners but Jakub and myself have bought out Benjamin and Craig and each have 50 percent of the business.
“We want to make people aware that we are still trading and growing our brand, with two new restaurants potentially opening soon.”
Jakub, David, Craig and Benjamin started the business four years ago alongside their other restaurants including the Grasshopper Cocktail and Wine Bar in the town.
David added: “I don’t know why the property has been advertised on Rightmove but I can reassure customers that it won’t be closing.
On Rightmove, the restaurant has been described as a well-established inviting restaurant providing fine-quality cuisine and a selection of drinks.
The business has been marketed by Knightsbridge Business Sales Limited.
