A 23-year-old from Bracknell has pleaded guilty to a drug dealing offence, after a police search of a property uncovered scales, deal bags, and £1,000 worth of drugs.

Lewis Peter Fincham, of Surrey Court in Warfield, Bracknell, appeared at Reading Magistrates Court earlier today (July 16).

Prosecutor Chad Echakowitz detailed how Fincham was arrested for an unrelated incident on March 27 last year – and he was then further arrested three days later after police searched a property linked to him.

Officers uncovered scales and ‘deal bags’, according to Mr Echakowitz, who also said a large amount of cannabis was seized.

Mr Echakowitz said: "The cannabis was 115g, with a street value of £1,000."

He added that fingerprints found on the 'deal bags' were found to match those of Fincham - who had given no comment responses during his police interview.

Mr Echakowitz said: "He has no previous convictions and he is of good character, which he will now lose."

Fincham faces a possible 26 week custodial sentence, according to Mr Echakowitz, who addressed the court with sentencing guidelines.

Similar drug offences featuring Class B substances - like cannabis - can incur a maximum penalty of six months in prison or an unlimited fine - or a combination of both punishments.

Presiding magistrate Lindsey Appleton granted Fincham unconditional bail. Fincham is due back at Reading Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Wednesday, August 21.
