The opening hours for Binfield Health and Community centre are set to be extended by two hours following approval from the council.

The centre, located within the Temple Park housing estate, will open at 7am rather than 8am, and close at 12am rather than 11pm.

It sought approval from Bracknell Forest Council’s (BFC) planning committee, which approved the changes.

The two-storey centre is home to the Binfield GP surgery, which moved to the location last August, as well as a community centre. The surgery includes consultation and examination rooms and minor procedure rooms.

Applicants asked the council to extend opening hours to ‘allow for setting up in the morning and packing up in the evening’.

Following the extension, the car park will stay lit for an extra hour until midnight.

It is situated next to the new King’s Academy school and ‘Golfplex’ golf course. The council considered neither neighbour to be adversely affected by the changes. While the school is not open into night time hours, the golf centre only stays open until 10pm.

The committee did note that the effect on residential properties to the south of the site should be considered. A noise assessment was undertaken and the noise from different rooms was found to be ‘present but not intrusive’.

Therefore the noise ‘would not result in an adverse impact on the amenity of neighbouring occupiers’.

The centre was built as a collaboration between Bracknell Forest Council and NHS Frimley, working in partnership with Binfield Parish Council.
