A runaway tortoise, dubbed 'Solomon' was rescued after being spotted on the railway tracks near Ascot.
He was found scrurrying at "pace", towards Bagshot on Friday, July 19, as per the incident report.
Arrangements by Network Rail teams led the next train from Aldershot to briefly stop, enabling Solomon's safe rescue and subsequent transportation to the station.
The plan to drop the 'shellebrity' at a Staines' vet clinic was set aside when the owner arrived to pick him up.
Network Rail, in a Social Media statement, apologised for passenger disruption, whilst reinforcing that their "everyone home safe, every day" ambition applies to beloved pets as well.
However, they strongly cautioned against the railway's potentially dangerous nature and urged lineside neighbours for secure fencing to deter human and animal track incursions.
