Fly tipping in Crowthorne’s Lidl car park recycling area has caused escalating concern amongst residents and the council.
This form of dumping rubbish is both a criminal offence and one of the most widespread forms of anti-social behaviour.
It defaces the environment, poses a source of pollution, can become a public health danger, encourages vermin and can become a magnet for further anti-social activities.
Offenders who are caught fly-tipping may be liable to pay a fine of up to £400.
Photos taken in the Lidl's car park recycling area in Crowthorne show the extent of the rubbish dumped in the recycling area.
Council officers visited the site and were able to identify two individuals and a local business from the evidence gathered.
These parties will be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.
Councillor Iskandar Jefferies, lead Member for Culture, Public Protection and Democracy, expressed his consternation.
He said: "We will not tolerate fly-tipping in our beautiful borough and I am pleased we are continuing to take action against those who think it is acceptable or do not take responsibility for ensuring their rubbish is disposed of correctly.
"We investigate all reported fly-tips and if enough evidence is recovered then we will take action."
The public are reminded to responsibly manage their recycling.
This includes taking home and recycling any boxes used to take items to the recycling area.
