Co-op's Crowthorne store on High Street is set to undergo a major revamp in a bid to better serve the local community in Bracknell Forest and Wokingham.

Closing today, August 2, at 5pm, the shop will see new flooring, refrigeration, and back of shop enhancements as part of the extensive refurbishment programme.

However, shoppers will not be without a local store for long.

A temporary 700 sq ft store, offering a selection of grocery products and everyday essentials, will be operational from the site during most of the works.

Paul Pearce, Co-op Store Manager, said: "The whole team is delighted to have the opportunity to carry out such a significant investment in Co-op's Crowthorne store, it will have a fantastic, fresh new-look, and we are really looking forward to welcoming our members and customers into their new-look store when we relaunch."

The new-look store is due for relaunch in October, featuring a self-service laundry, Costa coffee express, photo booth and parcel collection services via an InPost Locker.

In the meantime, locals can continue shopping at the temporary store from August 12, or one of the other nearby Co-op outlets in Owlsmoor - Yeovil Road; Sandhurst - Yorktown Road; Hanworth - Bywood; or Jennett's Park, Falcon Way.

Pearce further added: "In the meantime, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience during the works, and to let customers know that a temporary store will be available on site for the majority of the time that we carry out the refurbishments."

Co-op, boasting an 180-year history and counting among the world's largest consumer-owned co-operatives, serves its community not only through everyday essentials but also with personalised offers and member-only price savings through the Co-op Membership app.
