Residents in Bracknell have been voting on their pick of the cheapest pubs where customers can enjoy pints and other beverages for a fraction of the cost.

On a callout to social media, dozens of people commented their favourite pubs that offer drinks at slashed prices.

One that was a steady contender with many locals was The Old Manor which is a Wetherspoons situated on Grenville Place.

On TripAdvisor, one happy customer wrote the establishment a glowing review, particularly focussing on the affordability of the pub.

They said "Had a couple of very impromptu and informal business meets here just me and one other. Very cheap, great wide menu and whilst the food is certainly not fine dining or special it was very acceptable.

"Great chips. Beer at £1.97 per pint. Staff were good a bit rushed off of their feet but pleasant etc Easy to park, yes it pays to read the parking charge notice, then it's easy. Will return."

Another person gave the Wetherspoons four out of five stars and wrote the following review:

"This is the best Wetherspoons we have visited and we must have been to 50 or so around the UK. We went in every night of our 3-day stay at the nearby Travelodge.

"The table service and waiting staff are a credit to the Manager always clearing the tables when required. Usually, we have to ask staff to clear and wipe down as they are usually full of glasses or plates .

"This was not the case with The Old Manor in Bracknell. Couldn't complain about the food and also friendly bar staff. I wish our local one in Bradford was managed as well."

Others also chimed in to share their picks of some of the cheapest places for a pint in Bracknell.

Another fierce contender was the Market Inn, which can be found on Station Road.

One happy customer rated the pub five stars and commented on how reasonably priced they found what was on offer.

They wrote "It’s a fantastic pub with great food and drinks, all reasonably priced too. The staff and management are all friendly kindhearted and welcoming."

Another place that is said to be pretty affordable is Silver Birch.

One customer gave them five stars and said "Always pop in and have never been disappointed.

"Whether it's food or drink or both, these fellas and ladies think ahead and make for a lovely experience. Bradley was his usual chirpy, funny self this afternoon. I came here today for 'hair of the dog' I suppose. Eat well, was treated with dignity. Thank you Bradley."
