A Facebook group in Bracknell with more than 52,000 members has been taken over and rebranded.
'We Love Bracknell' has been a go to place for neighbours to share their thoughts and keep each other updated in the town and the surrounding area.
The group has recently been rebranded to 'We Love Bracknell Forest' with a tree emoji on the end.
The move follows the group's take over by 'Moody Moose' an advertising administrator, which manages five other Facebook groups in the area.
The people in charge of Moody Moose have answered claims they bought the groups from previous administrator Mark John, a vocal resident of Bracknell.
Ed, one of the administrators at Moody Moose said: "We did not buy the groups as this is against Facebook terms of service but we did purchase some websites.
"The previous administrator and founder helped keep costs down because we needed to invest into loads of Moody Moose teddies and lots of different sweets from our childhood times.
"These will be given away to members for free on our groups and website as part of promoting local businesses on the groups and Moody Moose website and at the same time those businesses will pay us for our time."
Mood Moose also runs the We Love Surrey Heath, Hart, Runnymede, Rushmoor and Basingstoke & Deane Facebook groups.
The rebrand to 'We Love Bracknell Forest' has proved controversial, as there is already a group with that name that has 4.7 thousand members.
Explaining the decision, Ed said: "We decided to go ahead but to add the tree symbol into our names to keep our name unique.
"Some people like our new name and the inclusion of other parts or Bracknell Forest however some people say this is confusing with other groups so next month we will let members choose if to put the name back to the original."
Ed runs Moody Moose with his business partner Elliot.
He continued: "It’s important that the group is run by some locals who live in Bracknell Forest.
"Elliot and I are just getting everything set and getting a feel for how people like things and then we are looking for a manager for the group who in turn for their assistance can have free business promotion for themself or a loved one.
"We also want this to be a fresh start for everyone so anyone who was banned under the previous administration more than 6 months ago can email us to rejoin at Ed@moodymoose.uk This with the exception of anyone who made threats or other serious reasons, the previous team kept notes.
"We are excited to get going and make this a fresh start for the community. While we always expect some complaints we are thankful to most people who are giving us a chance to make the group even better."
The takeover took place in July.
