An Ascot resident and winner of this year's RBWM Garden in Bloom competition has shared her gardening journey.
Ruth Levy revealed she was informed of her victory by John Story, and her award was presented on July 15.
Having gained a horticulture diploma from Berkshire College of Agriculture and a doctorate in Ecology, Levy has been working as a professional gardener and also employs her knowledge as a biology teacher.
Her winning garden is not just for show, as she uses it to experiment with different plants.
"My back garden is really my 'plant lab'," Levy admitted.
Praising the benefits of her pastime, she said: "I know it's only a garden, but it has helped me deal with stress, make friends, meet other gardeners and also engage with local visitors."
