Students at the independent day and boarding school, LVS Ascot certainly exceeded expectations for A-Level Results Day, August 15, celebrating a remarkable set of results.

This year, the school reported a hefty 97.3% overall pass rate for their Year 13 cohort, demonstrating a steady increase from the previous year's already impressive 96%.

This achievement is all the more notable, given the challenges brought about by Covid-19 that the students have had to navigate throughout their educational journey.

The students' hard work and resilience evidently paid dividends with top-grade achievements also seeing an appreciable rise.

A solid 17.1% of students achieved Grade A*- A, up from 14.6% the previous year, belying the national trend of top-level grades being in decline.

Among the high achievers was Max, who attained an A, two Bs and a distinction in Maths, Economics, History and Media, respectively.

He affirmed the positive environment at LVS Ascot, and said: "The relaxed yet encouraging atmosphere at LVS Ascot has meant I’ve always felt comfortable to ask questions whenever I’ve needed to during my studies.

"The teachers are fantastic and I’m very thankful for them."

Max will be taking his excellent grades to Exeter University to commence his studies in Finance.

English Literature would-be scholar Cait also declared her delight with her superb A* and two As in English Literature, Drama and History.

Always full of praise for LVS Ascot, Cait averred that it was the "best school that she’s ever been to".

Similarly effusive compliments came from Cait’s mother who said: "Cait has really flourished at LVS Ascot, she has made friends for life and the teachers have been unbelievably supportive."

Cait is set to study at prestigious King’s College London in September.

Principal of LVS Ascot, Christine Cunniffe, expressed her pride in the students' laurels, singling out their academic acumen and resilience.

Mrs Cunniffe said: "I am incredibly proud of our students’ outstanding A-Level results, which reflect not only their academic talent but also their resilience.

"These achievements are a testament to their hard work, as well as the unwavering support of our dedicated teachers and staff.

"We are especially pleased to see both our pass rate and top-grade achievement increasing.

"We have every confidence that our students will continue to excel in their future endeavours, and I’m delighted to have had the pleasure of seeing these amazing individuals grow into the people they are today."

In addition to the successful students and their parents, the achievements have also garnered applause from the wider LVS Ascot community, eliciting effusions of praise and congratulatory messages for the young scholars.

The outstanding results they achieved this year make it clear that LVS Ascot has lived up to its mission of inspiring students to exceed expectations.
