A 30-year-old Mum from Wokingham is set to open a brand new kids clothing store next month after seeing a gap in Wokingham for fashionable and functional baby clothes.
Named after her daughters Poppy and Florence, Stephanie Sandy, made the decision after giving birth to her second daughter.
Both Stephanie, and husband Tom have worked hard over the last year to accelerate their expansion plans for the business.
Stephanie said: “After my second baby, Florence, I discovered that it was almost impossible on Wokingham high street to find bougee, chic and yet affordable clothes for babies and kids.
“My online store kicked off quite quickly and then we discovered the empty unit in Wokingham High Street. I hadn’t planned to start up a physical shop for at least five years but when the shop became available everything just accelerated.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to work for myself but it’s always been a dream that I never thought would happen. It’s so exciting that it has and luckily we havn’t had any major hiccups.”
Stephanie, who started as a Virgin flight attendant at the age of 19 said that this is a major change compared to what she was doing before.
She added: “It feels like a full circle moment because I went to school in Wokingham and grew up here and now I am opening up a shop in the town and watching my kids grow up here.
“I think that Pops & Flo will bring a change to the town of Wokingham and an extra option for parents. I hope to create a relaxing atmosphere for people to shop.”
Products that will be available in-store will include fashionable/neutral and bougee kids clothes, gift ideas and Christmas gifts.
The proposed opening date is expected to be on the first week of October when the store will have a grand opening party.
According to Stephanie, she has received positive support and attention from both customers and the Wokingham local business community.
