A 78-year-old man was injured at the Wokingham Speedway Reunion after the chain of his bike snapped off and hit him in the head.
The event, which took place at California Country Park on Sunday, August 8, brought hundreds together for the 18th California – in – England Speedway reunion.
Enthusiasts were urged to bring along speedway memorabilia, to relive memories of British Speedway.
The 78-year-old enthusiast brought along his Norton Speedway Bike, which according to an attendee, he had built over a number of years in his garden shed.
According to onlookers, whilst revving up the bike for excited onlookers, the chain snapped and flew off hitting the man in the head.
Emergency services and the South Central Ambulance Service were called to the event to provide care.
Following the incident, a member of staff at Jacksons Café in California Lake - with first aid training - rushed to the man and attended to the head wound.
