A well-known Bracknell pub has been named as a finalist in the Great British Pub Awards 2024.
On Tuesday, September 17, Simon and Vicki Powell will appear at the celebrated awards ceremony in Manchester where dozens of landlords and publicans across the country will gather in recognition of outstanding service within the hospitality industry.
The Newton Pippin pub is up against five other Stonegate Group pubs to compete for the title of best Stonegate Pub of the year in the UK.
Competitors include The Woodman, The Crown & Anchor, The Packhorse, The Gloucester Old Spot and the Danish Invader.
Simon and Vicki transformed the once ‘mediocre’ Bracknell pub into a thriving community hub as they decided to take it on over lockdown.
The couple moved from Surrey where they spent many years managing other establishments.
This is just one of the many awards ceremonies that they have attended following the transformation.
It was previously listed as one of the UK’s best pubs in the 2023 Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide.
