An annual jobs fair in Bracknell celebrates another year of success as hundreds of jobseekers flock to the Lexicon.
The Bracknell Jobs Fair, hosted by Bracknell Business Improvement District (BID), took place on September 5 in Princess Square Shopping Centre, in partnership with the Lexicon.
The event, which is now in its third year, saw hundreds of people attend, eager to explore the different employment opportunities, despite the poor weather conditions.
The event was attended by companies from a range of different sectors, including automotive, education, print, technology, healthcare, retail, and hospitality.
The companies showcased various roles, apprenticeships, and training opportunities they had available.
Bracknell Forest Skills Hub and the National Careers Service also attended to offer guidance to attendees, while the Lexicon facilitated CV submissions.
Sean Griffin, Bracknell BID manager, said: "We’re absolutely thrilled with how the Jobs Fair went.
"The turnout was fantastic, and we received great feedback from both businesses and attendees.
"Many companies have already scheduled follow-up interviews, and we’re proud to have created a platform that connects local talent with much-needed job opportunities.
"This event supports both the business community and local jobseekers, so it’s a win-win for everyone involved."
Over the last three years, the event has helped employers secure the workforce they need and encouraged residents to find rewarding careers close to home.
The collaboration between the BID, The Lexicon, the local authority, and careers organisations also illustrates the vision of business development and growth through collaboration and investment.
Mr Griffin added: "This year we saw 22 local businesses participating, including Bracknell Forest Council, John Lewis Partnership, Daler Rowney, Cadence Design Systems, Reliance High-Tech, and lots of others.
"The turnout shows a clear demand for more opportunities like this, and the BID remains committed to bringing the business community together.
"We hope to be able to host the Jobs Fair again in the future."
BIDs offer an investment in trading environments, by providing added value services, as they see improvements to business profitability and turnover. There are now more than 310 BIDs across the UK.
