1. Police investigate horrific stabbing in Bracknell

(Image: NQ) Investigations are ongoing by police into a horrific stabbing in Bracknell following the arrest of a 19-year-old.

The incident took place at a property in Bay Road at around 8:20pm on Thursday, September 19.

A 19-year-old man from Farnborough has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) after the victim, a man in his twenties sustained injuries that required hospitalisation.

2. BBQ King takeaway licence revoked for good after final chance

A takeaway van that risked being shut down due to poor hygiene has had its trading license revoked for good.

BBQ King in Winnersh had been given a final chance to improve after receiving a slew of poor hygiene complaints, as well as reported drug and immigration offences.

It has operated in Wokingham for the past 30 years, and on Kings Street in Winnersh since 2019.

3. Bracknell school restricts parking access after teacher injured

A Bracknell school is restricting access to one of its car parks after a teacher was injured while trying to manage incoming traffic.

King’s Academy in Binfield wrote to parents this week informing that vehicle access via St George’s Park, which is used for the primary school, will be reduced from today (Wednesday, September 18).

The secondary school is accessed by Wood Lane, but some parents use the primary school entrance during peak hours.

4. Forester's Way: Man, 21, arrested for drug driving after crash

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after a head-on crash between a silver Vauxhall and a green Peugeot on a busy Bracknell road.

The incident occurred just before 7:15pm on Monday, September 16 on Forester’s Way between the roundabouts for Crowthorne and Broadmoor Hospital.

A woman in her sixties and a woman in her forties – in the green Peugeot – sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

5. Dad delivers baby whilst on the way to Frimley Park Hospital

A dad delivered his baby son in a care home car park after his partner gave birth in the passenger seat of their BMW on the way to hospital. 

Jess Hannam, 31, and Joe Illsley, 34, have now named their newborn after the care home where he was born following his dramatic arrival into the world. 

The couple had been trying to reach Frimley Park Hospital in Camberley, Surrey when their baby decided to arrive a little sooner than expected on August 28.
