Film showings are due to be launched at a pub in the heart of Bracknell.

The Bull in Bracknell High Street dates back to the 1400s, pre-dating the town itself, and is Grade II listed due to this heritage.

The pub benefited from a refurbishment and an extension to create a modern dining area alongside the opening of The Lexicon in 2017.

Now the brewery that owns The Bull is set to start putting on films there.

The pub's website states: "As the nights draw in it's time to snuggle up and watch some movie classics.

"Starting this October we will be showing some of Hollywood's greatest all time films on our outdoor screen.

"Grab some popcorn and a blanket and get comfortable for the evening. Show times are at 7.30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

"Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook feeds for upcoming movies."

The film showings will be undertaken along with other activities in The Bull's programme of events, such as hosting The Bracknell Writers Group every Tuesday.

Playing films is a licensable activity, which has meant the pub's owning company Young & Co's Brewery submitted an application for a minor variation to its licence to allow the showings, which was submitted in the summer.

Licensing applications in Bracknell Forest are dealt with by the Public Protection Partnership, a partnership between Bracknell Forest Council and West Berkshire Council.

A deadline for representations to the application was reached earlier this month. The council has been asked to clarify whether the application has been granted yet.

Young & Co's Brewery owns more than 270 establishments across London and England.
