An Olympic bronze medallist graced her alma mater, Charters School in Sunningdale addressing students and parents during the annual Celebration of Achievement event.
Recognising students' hard work and dedication, the celebration on September 26 highlighted those who exemplified Unity, Respect and Excellence.
"The Celebration of Success Evening was fantastic this week," Headteacher John Fletcher said.
"Our guest of honour was Hattie Taylor, a former student of Charters and Olympic Bronze medallist in Paris this year as part of the Women's 8’s crew in rowing.
"Her speech focused on 5 lessons learnt in her training."
Charters alumnus Taylor shared deep insights from her journey to the Olympic podium and her experience rowing for the GB Senior Team.
She stressed the need for hope, backed by strategic action, the power of perseverance, daring to take risks, backing oneself, and loving one’s pursuit.
She also drew parallels between the school's values of Unity, Respect, and Excellence and the GB Rowing Team's values of United, Confident, and Relentless which have been instrumental in their successes.
