The MP for Bracknell has joined forces with residents to tackle ‘disgusting’ levels of waste left on the streets in the town.
Peter Swallow joined the Crown Wood and Harmans Water Clean Up in September, who as a group collected a total of 26 bags of litter.
Bracknell Forest Councillors Jodie Watts and Cherise Welsh also joined.
Posting on social media, a member of Wild Bracknell said that commonly littered items included cans, crisps and a broken scooter. This was the campaign groups second litter pick. Their first, completed in August, saw 17 volunteers collect 27 large bags worth of waste.
Speaking to the News in August, Lewis Currington from the group said that himself and other resident wanted to tackle ‘disgusting’ levels of waste left on the streets.
Bracknell Forest Council provided the equipment. Residents looking to litter-pick themselves can order tools on the council’s website through the authority’s Take Pride scheme.
