A bid to build ten apartments in Ascot has been refused by Bracknell Forest Council.
Brockenhurst Homes Ltd wanted to build an apartment block of ten flats on land at Milcote Cottage Kings Ride, Ascot.
Included in the building would be basement parking and refuse store. It comes after the existing buildings were demolished.
But Bracknell Forest Council said introducing new households to the site would have an ‘unacceptable impact on the openness of the Green Belt’.
In its refusal letter, the council stated that the applicant had failed to address key areas including biodiversity, access management and affordable housing.
Wokingham: 242543
A residential house in Spencer’s Wood could be turned into a children’s care home.
Benneton Care Homes would like to create a small therapeutic children’s care home which will provide a ‘safe, nurturing and holistic environment where children from various backgrounds can grow, heal and thrive’.
The property features a kitchen, dining room, lounge, therapeutic hub and large garden.
It would provide care for four young people supported by a maximum of three staff members on site.
The application has been validated by Wokingham Borough Council and a decision is yet to be made.
Bracknell: 24/00506/FUL
The creation of a single car space in Warfield has been refused by Bracknell Forest Council.
The applicant wanted to have a permanent car park space next to 31 All Saints Rise, a residential street in Warfield.
This would be on landscaped land and was a retrospective application.
But it has since been refused by the council after it argued that it would be ‘detrimental to the character of the surrounding area’.
Wokingham: 241881
A bid to build three homes following the demolition of four houses in Wokingham Without has been rejected.
Wokingham Borough Council has refused the plans to build three detached homes on the site of Dairy Cottage, Heathlands Road.
Plans would involve the demolition of four existing homes on the site, as well as the removal of a caravan pitch.
But the council argued the plans would have a ‘detrimental impact’ on the rural character of the area.
The proposal would also result in a loss of two homes in the Wokingham Borough, which the council could not support.
