A school has introduced performance swimming scholarships for young athletes.
St George's School in Ascot, which opened its new 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool in 2019, is offering the scholarships to girls aged 11-18 who are competing at county level and above.
The programme is designed to help young swimmers excel in both their sport and education.
The school said that the scholarships provide a chance to develop future champions by offering a mix of top-level swimming training and high-quality education.
Girls who are awarded the scholarship will be given expert coaching to improve their technique, build endurance, and increase speed.
The school offers on-site accommodation and training facilities, aiming for a balanced approach to athletic and academic commitments.
The programme also includes athlete-focused nutrition and strength and conditioning coaching.
It provides significant financial assistance for both day and boarding pupils, with the possibility of additional bursary support in exceptional circumstances.
This is aimed at making the programme more accessible for families looking to invest in their daughter's future.
The school said its commitment to excellence goes beyond swimming.
It ensures each girl receives a well-rounded education that complements her athletic development.
The school said pupils will have the opportunity to pursue their academic goals in a supportive environment that promotes confidence, resilience, and ambition.
The school's Performance Swimming Scholarship Programme is now open for applications.
