Wokingham Borough Council is asking young people for their views on life in the area.

The council wants to hear from 11 to 19-year-olds in a 'Youth Future Focus' survey.

This survey, developed with Berkshire Youth and the Children and Young People’s Partnership, covers topics like wellbeing, safety, leisure, support networks, and concerns.

The feedback will help shape the Wokingham Youth Offer Needs Assessment, identifying existing services and any gaps for young people in the borough.

Councillor Prue Bray, executive member for children's services, said: "Young people make up a big proportion of our borough with over 12.5 per cent aged 10 to 19.

"Their views and experiences are vital to helping build better communities and it is very important to us to make sure we hear and listen to what they have to say.

"We are working hard with our partners to make sure as many young people as possible have the opportunity to give us their views and are encouraged to complete the survey."

The survey, open until October 25, is accessible to those aged 11 to 19, or up to 24 for those with special educational needs and disabilities.

The council is collaborating with schools, groups, and alternative provisions to ensure maximum participation.

An in-person event is planned for later this year.

The council encourages sharing the survey with young people to ensure their voices are heard, and encourage those who have any questions about the project or survey, or need an easy-read version to get in contact with the council.
