13 abandoned vehicles were discovered by environmental health and PPP officers this month following reports from across Bracknell Forest.
According to officials, an increasing number of supposedly abandoned vehicles are reported at the start of the holiday season.
During a visit out and about in Bracknell, the Public Protection Partnership discovered 8 vehicles that sat abandoned in the countryside. They were stickered and are now under investigation.
The sign which is placed on the vehicles says: “This vehicle is under investigation. The vehicle may be removed for disposal at any time without further notification.”
The owners of the stickered vehicles now have two weeks to contact the PPP and if they don’t the vehicles may be removed.
Four of the reported vehicles had moved on and one was on private land.
For a vehicle to abandoned it usually has to be the following:
- out of road tax
- remains in the same place for in excess of 28 days
- no obvious owner
- flat tyres
- vandalised
- insecure
- contains waste
- burnt out
