A Conservative candidate has been elected to represent Ascot and Sunninghill following a by-election.
Sally Coneron will be the new councillor for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead after winning the majority of votes on October 17.
The by-election was held after the previous representative, John Story, resigned from his post in September due to health reasons.
Four candidates vied to fill his place, with Ms Coneron emerging victorious.
Ms Coneron secured her victory with 1,264 votes, more than half of all votes cast.
She was up against Labour's Nigel Hayward, who received 74 votes, Liberal Democrat George Jezard, with 703 votes, and Matt Newman from the Borough First Independents, who collected 118 votes.
A total of 2,162 votes were cast, with 2,159 of these deemed valid.
The turnout for the by-election was 24.79 per cent.
Ms Coneron has committed to being a voice for the residents of Ascot and Sunninghill.
She said: "I would like to thank everybody who supported and voted for me.
"I look forward to working hard for all Ascot and Sunninghill residents, to ensure that their voices are heard at the Town Hall."
Her victory adds to the current composition of the council, which now consists of 41 councillors.
There are 21 Liberal Democrats, seven Conservatives, six Borough First Independents, two West Windsor Residents’ Association members, two Old Windsor Residents’ Association members, two Independents, and one National Flood Prevention Party member.
