A new care community has been opened to help those living with dementia.

Signature at Ascot has launched Tree Tops, a purpose-built dementia care community, to meet the demand for specialised dementia care in Berkshire.

Tree Tops provides a supportive and secure environment, aiming to enhance the wellbeing and dignity of residents living with dementia.

The community accommodates 15 residents, offering a more personal, one-to-one care experience in a smaller, calming setting.

Tree Tops has been designed with dementia-friendly features, including neutral, calming colours and clear, essential signage to assist residents in navigating their surroundings.

The design focuses on comfort and ease, with visual cues to key areas like dining rooms, which can often be disorienting for those with dementia.

Shahida Mumin, dementia care manager at Signature at Ascot, said: "We are incredibly excited to open Tree Tops and expand our capacity to offer high-quality, specialised care to those living with dementia.

"With only 15 residents, this smaller community allows us to offer a more personalised, one-on-one care approach, creating a calm and supportive atmosphere that meets the unique needs of each individual.

"While Tree Tops offers a more intimate setting, our commitment to delivering the highest standard of care remains unchanged.

"This new space will allow residents to enjoy greater comfort and calm while receiving the specialised care they need."

The care team at Tree Tops is highly trained in dementia care, undergoing specialised dementia training focusing on five key areas of support.

Additionally, the team participates in immersive dementia experiences to better understand the daily challenges faced by those living with the condition.

This ensures that every member of the care team is equipped to provide tailored care to residents.
