Ascot residents have hit back against dire flooding at the Railway Bridge in South Ascot.
According to concerns among the community, the flooding is causing severe delays and disruptions to both drivers and pedestrians travelling through the bridge.
After raising the concern to Jack Rankin – the MP for Windsor and Ascot – steps are allegedly being taken to amend the drainage issues that have been ongoing during the wet periods.
In a letter to Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, the Ascot MP outlined the problems that were being raised by members of the community.
The council has identified the problem and outlined what their next steps are to attempt the repair.
In a response to Jack Rankin, they said: "We can confirm that the Council has planned to undertake maintenance work on the gullies and pipe connections owned by the Council. This is being planned and will be actioned by our contractors.
"We have identified however that gullies connect into a Thames Water Surface Water sewer which is currently obstructed. We have made Thames Water aware of this issue and they have had traffic management measures on site over the past couple of weeks.”
The Bracknell News have contacted Thames Water for more details.
