A Wokingham opticians is set to undergo a £200,000 transformation.
Specsavers, in Market Place, will be having a two-week-long renovation to improve the community's eye and ear health.
The store, which has been in the town for more than 23 years, will be closed for four days, on October 28 and 29, and November 11 and 12.
The majority of the work will take place after hours, allowing the store to remain open as much as possible throughout the process.
The makeover will include a new layout, improved consulting rooms, new LED illuminated frame displays, a new digital screen, and the complete redecoration of the store.
Sean Caskey, Specsavers Wokingham optometrist director, said: "We’re really excited about these changes.
"The improvement works demonstrate our desire to bring the best possible service to the people of Wokingham and surrounding areas.
"We believe the investment will bring real benefits to our customers, combining the latest eye care, hearing care and retail technology to provide a highly professional and ultra-modern service.
"We’re improving the patient experience with more room for the seated dispensing of lens and glasses, without restricting space for those with mobility issues, and we will remain on one level. Shopfloor improvements also include brighter, more engaging frame displays.
"In addition, we’re upgrading our Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner, which produces a structural scan of the eye to help detect a range of eye conditions up to four years earlier than traditional methods. I’m particularly looking forward to this because we will be able to advise patients at an even higher level."
Over the past four decades, Specsavers has been committed to investing in and staying at the forefront of optical and audiology technology and trends, offering a wide range of services, including eye tests, prescription eyewear and contact lenses, as well as hearing checks, hearing aids and wax removal.
Specsavers, which also offers a home visits service for those unable to visit one of its 1,000 locally owned stores, provides a range of eye care services that not only help to maintain eye health and vision, but also help detect broader health issues.
