Residents are invited to find out how to boost their skills and development as part of Lifelong Learning Week.

Lifelong Learning Week runs from November 4 and is a celebration of adult learning and all it can offer.

Lifelong Learning Week is the annual week of activity that takes place across England, bringing together work from the Learning and Work Institute and beyond.

The event aims to engage a wide range of stakeholders and raise the profile of lifelong learning across a range of policy areas.

As part of this week, the Bracknell Open Learning Centre is open to the public, allowing people to explore the different courses community learning can offer.

There will be something for everyone, with courses ranging boosting wellbeing, tapping into creativity with art, enhancing digital skills, to improving work-related skills.

The aim is to engage a wide range of stakeholders and raise the profile of lifelong learning across a range of policy areas.

Coinciding with Lifelong Learning Week is Number Confidence Week, dedicated to helping people overcome their anxiety and stress around numbers.

A maths club is part of the community learning initiative, taking place every Monday during term time from 12 noon to 2pm at the Open Learning Centre.

The club provides a supportive space to build confidence and improve maths skills without the stress of exams.

Roy Bailey, cabinet member for children and young people, said: "Learning never stops, and building confidence with numbers opens doors in every part of life.

"Whether budgeting at home or advancing in a career, the skills we gain are invaluable."

As part of the celebrations, visitors to the centre will have the chance to win a voucher for The Lexicon by participating in a 'guess the amount of Lego' in the jar competition.
