Wokingham Borough Council has said that residents could save money on their bills if they register for the Big Community Switch.
The initiative, run by iChoosr since 2012, assists residents in changing energy suppliers and transitioning to a renewable electricity tariff.
The aim is to secure lower prices using the collective bargaining power of a large group, with all participating companies offering renewable electricity.
Registration for the Big Community Switch opened on November 1 and will close on December 9.
Council leader, Councillor Stephen Conway, said: "In conjunction with our ambition to make our borough cleaner and greener, we are also very keen to do what we can to help residents with their energy costs.
"The Big Community Switch is a great way to see if you could save money.
"There is no obligation to go ahead and registering is free.
"Winter is approaching and we know many residents have been affected by changes to their income and the rising costs of essentials, including heating their homes."
After registering, residents will receive a personal offer, detailing potential savings and specifics of the winning tariff.
Switching to renewable energy through this initiative aligns with the council's Climate Emergency Action Plan.
All inquiries regarding the scheme should be made to the Big Community Switch helpdesk.
