A restaurant in one of Berkshire’s most renowned hotels has been named the ‘Best Restaurant’ in the UK.

Woven by Adam Smith is located within the mansion house at The Coworth Park Estate just outside Ascot.

Both the service and cuisine provided at the restaurant and hotel have been recognised at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards For Excellence.

The awards recognise the achievements of hotels around the world, including 24 UK categories, and the winners were announced at a ceremony on November 6 at the Kimpton Fitzroy London.

Coworth Estate has been described as being ‘peppered with surprises’ for guests staying at the luxurious venue.

The restaurant was recognised for its ‘thoughtful interior design and attentive service and attention to detail.

The judges at Condé Nast said: “Adam Smith, one of the UK’s most talented chefs, leads the culinary team and heads up the Michelin Starred restaurant located within the Mansion House.

“His food challenges expectation of the classics, with each dish reinterpreted through the lens of his personal experience – “Woven by Adam Smith”. Traditional afternoon teas are taken in the Drawing Room and the welly-boot glamour and relaxed rustic dining in The Barn.

“Meanwhile, The Spatisserie in the award-winning spa welcomes pampered guests to rejuvenate with a healthy light snack.”

‘Woven’ by Adam Smith opened at Coworth Park on Thursday, September 8 revealing a menu that combines the classic with modern touches.

The eye-catching restaurant was designed by Martin Hulbert Designs who has crafted a theatrical and contemporary space.

This blends seamlessly into the Georgian Manor House setting of Coworth Park.

Whilst dining, visitors have the benefit of breath-taking views across the Coworth’s beautiful and impressive estate.

Following the opening, both the restaurant and hotel have won a variety of prestigious awards for their culinary expertise and facilities.

Adam Smith was recognised by the Michelin Guide in 2022 when he was awarded his first Michelin Star at the venue.

In September 2024, the acclaimed restaurant was awarded 5 AA rosettes at the 2024  AA Hospitality Awards.

Although the mantra of the restaurant, “Story-telling on a plate” made certain reviewers, including Telegraph writer William Sitwell, “skeptical”, Adam Smith’s "wonderful" cooking has been said to transform retro classics into exquisite dishes.
