Wokingham Borough Council is set to offer free parking to all visitors during two popular Christmas events.
Christmas events across the borough include the Wokingham Winter Carnival on Sunday, November 24 and the Woodley Christmas Extravaganza on Sunday, December 1.
With hundreds of people set to flood the town, the council will be opening up it’s far parks on these days, suspending charges for people who plan to drve into town.
During the Wokingham Winter Carnival, six carparks across the town will be made available for free parking.
This includes parking on Rose Street, Easthampstead Road East and West, Cockpit Path, Denmark Street, Carnival multi-storey car-park and Shute End car parks.
The Winter Carnival will include celebrations within the town centre and will include fairground rides, street entertainment, a Santa’s Grotto and market stalls.
During the Woodley Christmas event on Sunday, November 1, shoppers and visitors will be able to park for free at the parking on Headley Road, Crockhamwell Road and Lytham Road East and West.
This suspension of parking charges extends from 10pm on the Saturday night before until the Monday morning after each event.
