Police in Bracknell have uncovered an individual with a cavalry sabre during a stop-and-search operation.
Bracknell Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been taking part in Operation Sceptre, a national week of action focusing on knife crime.
This work has uncovered a cavalry sabre and two viable firearms among a 'large assortment of weapons' now taken off the streets, according to officers.
A representative from Thames Valley Police said: "Throughout the week we have had a number of operations in and around Bracknell involving a mixture of uniformed and plain clothes officers as well as specialist resources from the Joint Operations Unit.
"These operations have resulted in a number of positive stop searches and a large assortment of weapons being taken off the streets, some of the more obscure weapons included two viable firearms and a cavalry sabre."
Officers have also attended schools to deliver a range of anti-knife crime talks to pupils.
The police representative added: "We will continue to target those in our communities who pose harm to others or feel it is acceptable to carry knives in public.
"If you have any concerns about someone being in possession of weapons please get in touch with us by informing us via an online contact form, via 101 non-emergency number or reporting to CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
