A charity is seeking donations to help make Christmas a joyful time instead of one of isolation, loss, and grief for older residents.
The Wokingham Link Visiting Scheme has set up a 'kindness tree' in the Town Hall foyer, opposite WH Smiths.
People can visit the tree on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 10am to 2pm, select a gift tag, and scan a QR code.
The code will direct them to either donate to The Link’s 2023 Christmas Kindness Campaign or purchase a gift from The Link’s wish list.
Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the business location before December 15.
Alongside the Town Hall, kindness trees are also at David Cliff Estate Agents, Peach Street; Fiona Parry, Elms Walk; Stitchery Do, Denmark Street; Maya’s Refillables, Peach Place; Philsgoodfood Wokingham, Broad Street; Nuffield Health, The Plaza, Elms Field; and Wokingham Leisure Centre, Wellington Road.
