Wokingham is set to launch a winter safety event for residents.
The event, organised by Wokingham Borough Community Safety Team in partnership with Wokingham Neighbourhood Policing Team, will provide an opportunity for residents to engage with various agencies about ensuring safety during the winter months.
The initiative aims to address concerns particularly prevalent during the festive period, including health and wellbeing, online scams, romance fraud, e-scooters, and the night-time economy.
Representatives from Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue, Cranstoun, and INVOLVE will be present to offer advice and support.
Cranstoun is known for its person-centred approach to services for individuals facing difficulties with alcohol, drugs, domestic abuse, housing, and criminal justice.
INVOLVE, a leading public participation charity, has been active since 2003, working to revitalise democracy and improve decision-making by involving the public in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.
The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 5, at Wokingham Town Hall from 10.30am to 1pm.
Residents will also have the opportunity to provide feedback to the organisers.
The safety team emphasised the importance of residents’ safety in the borough, especially during the festive period.
The event is part of a series of seasonal safety initiatives planned by the organisers to ensure the community’s wellbeing throughout the year.
