ENGLAND Sevens head coach Simon Amor was the guest of honour as Crowthorne RFC opened their new facility on a day featuring a pair of matches.
The club – based off Lower Broadmoor Road – provided a day of entertainment with the ladies taking on Southampton before the Crows played a President's XV.
England Sevens player Heather Fisher presented ladies' captain Emma Bell and men's skipper Greg Redpath with new club shirts, and it was Thorn's No. 8 Rashael Franklin who scored the first try at the New Nest as her side beat Southampton 15-10 in a pre-season friendly.
Peter Chamberlain got the only try of the game as the President's XV ran out 8-3 winners in the second game, a hard-fought affair played under beautiful summer sunshine.
A great day for the club was completed with a disco and live music.

The Crows next play on Saturday, September 7 and the Thorns open their league campaign the following day at home to Thamesians Ladies.
