SOUTH Berkshire men ended their two-match MBBO Regional Two winless run and moved level on points at the top-of-the-table following a hard-fought 4-3 victory at home to West Hampstead 2nds, writes Richard Ashton.
Sam Fuentes-Moreno bagged a brace for the hosts, with the other goals coming from Ben Dudley and Tom King, the latter remaining joint top of the goalscoring charts after slamming home his eighth of the season.
Scott Wilkie grabbed a brilliant hat-trick for the visitors, but it proved in vain.
Second-placed South Berkshire visit basement side Wycombe 2nds on Saturday (2.30pm).
Unbeaten Division Two table-toppers South Berkshire 2nds made it seven wins from eight games with a 2-0 triumph at Windsor, Michael Amor and Mike Longson both on the scoresheet.
Duncan Clarke, Tom Scott and Adrian Trueman were all on target for South Berkshire 3rds, but they slipped to a 5-3 home defeat to Oxford Hawks 5ths in Division Three.
Adam Laird struck a fine treble for the away side, with their other goals coming from Edward Baldock and Nathan Monk.
In Division Seven, South Berkshire 4ths were edged out 1-0 at leaders Amersham & Chalfont, while in Division Eight West, South Berkshire Terriers squeezed past Henley 5ths 2-1 to record their fifth win in seven games.
The Terriers trailed until the final 10 minutes, but late goals from Dominic Harvey and debutant Matt Humphrey gave them all three points.
South Berkshire ladies' difficult start to the Trysports Three Counties League Premier Division One season continued as they went down 3-1 at Oxford 2nds.
Rebekah Andrew, Maya Choudhury and Laura Pickervance were the hosts' goalscorers.
Second-bottom South Berkshire welcome Newbury & Thatcham to Cantley Park on Saturday (1.30pm).
In Premier Division Two, South Berkshire 2nds slipped to ninth in the table following their 3-0 home defeat to Oxford University 2nds.
South Berkshire 3rds remain third in Division Two after they edged out basement side Reading Rebels 1-0, while South Berkshire 4ths played out a thrilling 4-4 draw at Maidenhead 5ths in Division Five.
