RUNAWAY MBBO Division Two leaders South Berkshire men's 2nds suffered a first defeat of the season as they lost 6-3 at home to second-placed Amersham & Chalfont 2nds on Saturday.
Rob Badley, Paul Kaplanski – with his 17th goal of the campaign – and Callum Miller were on target for the hosts, but it proved insufficient as braces from Steven Spicer and James Watson along with Warren Driscoll and Martin Jackson strikes gave all three points to Amersham.
In Division Seven, South Berkshire 4ths climbed to fifth in the table after picking up a 4-2 success at Leighton Buzzard 3rds.
Second-placed South Berkshire return to MBBO Regional One action following the Christmas break when they host Oxford Hawks at Cantley Park this Saturday (1.30pm).
South Berkshire ladies host Banbury in their maiden Trysports Three Counties League Premier Division One fixture of 2020 on Saturday (noon).
