Bracknell Rugby Club 1st XV Team return to Lilly Hill Park this Saturday, September 9, for their first home game of the season, as they take on Bournemouth RFC.
After a thrilling first match, which saw over 70 points scored, Bracknell will be looking to improve on their performance from the first outing. Bracknell were unlucky to be missing some key players for the match, and despite crossing the whitewash on multiple occasions, didn’t quite have enough in the tank to bring home a win.
Looking forward to this weekend, and a match against fierce rivals Bournemouth, memories return to last season, when each side took the honours when it came to home matches. This time around expect a tight affair, full of big hits, expansive play, and full of innovation and excitement, as each side look to wrestle themselves into a position of advantage. An early score could prove to be the deciding factor and a key component for victory in the match. Despite it being early in the season, every point is vital, in what is set to be a highly competitive and tightly contested league.
Bracknell will be looking to exploit their home turf advantage on a pitch that has undergone extensive ground works to make it pristine for the 2023/24 season. With the home crowd providing their enthusiastic support from the side-lines, the team are keen to put on a stellar performance and make every little edge they can get count. Club Captain, Alex Frame will be leading out the squad as new signings Alistair Gibbons, Monty Jones, Matt Perks, Fergus O’Connor and Manasa Cakau will be hoping to make their first home appearances. All five new signings bring vast experience and flair to the squad, and they each look set to become firm favourites with BRFC crowd.
For this season Bracknell Rugby Club have announced FREE entry to all its home matches!
Alongside the 1st XV, the mighty Bracknell Rugby 3rd XV will also be at home, as they take on Tadley RFC 2nd XV, and away from the pitch the Stag Bar will be showing all the matches from this year’s Rugby World Cup, live on the big screen!
The game kicks off at 3pm.
