Royal Ascot Golf Club has unveiled its stylishly upgraded clubhouse, to support a bustling schedule of upcoming events on and off the course.

After extensive renovations, the Berkshire facility now sports a spanking new 200-square-metre outdoor socialising and dining area, ready and open to members and visitors seven days a week.

Part of a significant investment, the club has partnered with retail heavyweight, Greene King, to ensure guests can purchase the brand's products in the newly developed outdoor space.

Not forgetting the golfers, the area also includes a shoe-cleaning machine and decorative fencing, adding to the overall aesthetic.

Stephen Nicholson, the club's General Manager, shared his thoughts on the update, saying: "Our location on wooded Crown Land is what makes the club unique to many of our existing and new members.

"We’re committed to enhancing the profile of golf locally and making the game accessible to as many people as possible.

"But providing an open space for visitors to enjoy our improved clubhouse facilities is equally important."

Further detailing the thought process behind the recent changes, Nicholson explained: "After listening to feedback from our members, we’ve expanded our outdoor social area and deliberately positioned it to be exposed to sunlight through the day during the summer months.

"These renovations will ensure our guests experience the best our club has to offer."

The latest series of improvements come following a full calendar of events conducted over the course's summer season.

Prominent events included several open competitions, the Southern Legends Tour in association with the PGA, and multiple sub-events such as the Olympic-themed Pairs Open on June 10, the Gents Scratch Open on July 14, the Ladies Team Open on July 17, and the Seniors Team Open on August 1.

"There is a real feel-good atmosphere at the club right now," Nicholson commented, adding, "Last year was a memorable one with an increase in social events off the course, a strong programme of competitions and a special visit from the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh who planted the first trees on our Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Wood.

We have ambitious plans to continue this upward trend and hope to welcome plenty of new faces through our doors this autumn."

The historical Royal Ascot Golf Club, founded in 1887 and conferred its royal status by Queen Victoria, is nestled within 150 acres of Windsor Great Park, adjoining the world-renowned racecourse.
